About the Show

Welcome to Odd Trilogies, a podcast dedicated to the strange inter-connectedness of film! To us, an "odd trilogy" is any set of three films—whether bonded by story, spirit, themes, or shared cast & crew—that has an interesting angle worth digging into. For example, many don't realize that Korean classic "Oldboy" is actually the second film in Park Chan-wook's "Vengeance" trilogy! That's something worth exploring!

Our "trilogies" are not limited to the deliberate or canonical (like "Bill & Ted," Pixar's "Cars"); we also curate and discuss more incidental ones, with more unofficial connections, like our Nutcracker or "Rise of Zack Snyder" trilogies! Those may be based on a commonality that we find interesting, or a grouping that's significant to film culture. Whatever the connections are, we (your hosts, Logan Sowash & Andy Carr) apply our love and knowledge of film to analyze these trilogies as single bodies, as well as the individual films themselves. Listen and laugh with us as we dive into the never-ending pit of cinematic connectivity known as ODD TRILOGIES!
